HMC Performance Management Program Paths
The HMC Performance Management Program Benchmark offers three highly flexible “pathways” to enable you to use quality benchmarks to become a low-cost, high-quality hospital. Clients decide at the time of the HMC deployment which pathways are appropriate, depending on internal goals and timelines. The paths are:
Budgeting Path. This assists financial analysts to create a rational methodology to close budget gaps while avoiding system-wide cuts. HMC translates the benchmark targets into your organization’s cost center targets using transparent and equitable priorities. The resulting budget is both accurate and achievable.
Performance Improvement Teams Path. Some projects require multidisciplinary team members with varied expertise to reach the improvement or cost-cutting goals. This path is specially designed to help focus entire teams on priority areas with high potential for improvement, or that involve mission-critical processes.
Stewardship Path. To reach their goals, the participants in performance improvement projects need developmental and educational resources. This path engages every manager to take personal responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient use of the institution’s resources. HMC assists this process by channeling these managers’ efforts, and helping them create ideas and implement them.
