HMC Best Practice Exchange
Developed with the MIT Center for Collaborative Intelligence, HMC has added a new tool for hospital performance improvement. It is powered by HMC KnowledgeMaps.™ The tool assists managers to solve their problems and challenges. It does this by presenting relevant ideas and experiences derived from successful case studies, surveys, iConferences, abstracts, and other resources. Using a problem-keyword-optimized search engine, it gives specific suggestions to improve cost management.
For example, a surgical services manager improving cost performance can use the Best Practice Exchanges to decide if they should consider core staffing, or the skill mix composition. It presents improvement pathways, assists in thought organization, and finds all of the relevant ideas, surveys, iConference abstracts, and summaries. Managers can also ask follow-up questions by clicking the networking request link in the HMC KnowlegeWeb™ and accessing the right managers to enable success.
