THE SENIOR HMC TEAM
The Healthcare Management Council, Inc. is comprised of veteran healthcare professionals who have worked side by side with managers, caregivers and physicians to develop the most effective visions for the operation of their organizations. We are strategic management consultants developing unique analytical tools to address the critical data handling needs of a rapidly changing industry. Our senior team includes:
Tom founded HMC in 1990 looking to provide a new and evolving way to support performance improvement in healthcare. Having spent 12 years at Bain and Company and having developed their healthcare and hospital practice, it became clear that vehicles for self-improvement were underdeveloped, complicated to build, and ever evolving, but would ultimately provide great value to an organization.
Since that beginning, HMC has built an incredibly rich array of tools to define performance improvement issues, anchor them with senior managements and middle managers alike, and ultimately direct internal performance improvement efforts. This vision has driven HMC to create technologies that are pathbreaking and endlessly improving while attracting a remarkably talented TEAM of software developers, hospital executives, and creative/smart people.
At Bain and Company, Mr. Day was a Vice President and Corporate officer helping grow the firm from 60 employees to over 1,200 employees worldwide.
In addition, Mr. Day was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Advisory Board Company, where he was responsible for fiscal and operations management. He doubled profits through improved cost discipline, collections, supplier agreements and new product development.
As a member of Sigma Xi, the scientific honor society, Mr. Day earned a BS in Engineering and an AB in Economics from Brown University. Mr. Day continued his education at The Wharton School, where he was ranked at the top 5%, and received an MBA with Distinction in Finance.
